Dzhami “Jame’s Russian team, Outsiders, was the grand champion of IEM Major Rio 2022, against Heroic. The Russian team, which started the tournament in the Challengers Stage, the initial phase of the dispute, reached the final and, in the decisive clash against the Danish Heroic, became champions by 2 maps to 0.

Outsiders won the US$500 prize, while the defeated Heroic won US$170. The team that came in second was the same one that eliminated the Brazilian FURIA in the semifinals.
In the end
The game started with the best-of-three series, a map chosen by Outsiders, who played as terrorists. The duel was balanced and ended with 8×7 for the team that won the final. When there was a reversal of sides, Outsiders won again, but this time 16×12.
The second map was chosen by Heroic, but the team was unsuccessful. Outsiders got washed out by 12×3. When they turned the corner, they lost just two points, leaving them 16-5. Thus, The Outsiders became champions of the Major.

This was the first time that the team was champion of the Major. The Danes, from Heroic, had also never reached a final. This was, then, a final of many firsts, including the first in Brazil.
