Roberto Dinamite, Vasco da Gama's greatest idol and top scorer, died this Sunday morning (8) at the age of 68, due to bowel cancer. In addition to being a notable figure for national football, Dinamite was also a state deputy for the MDB. Clubs, personalities and federations spoke out on social media.

Carlos Roberto Gama de Oliveira was born on April 13, 1954, in Duque de Caxias (RJ). Formerly from Botafogo, Dinamite was responsible for epic matches in the Brazilian Championship. It was from one of these brilliant performances that Roberto received the nickname Dynamite. After an impeccable and “bombastic” performance against Internacional, in a match at Maracanã, in 1971, the then 17-year-old scored against Internacional, in a match that ended 2-0.
