Lula's inauguration will have more than 60 foreign delegations, dozens of caravans and “Lulapallooza”

Still under fears of extremist acts promeheld by supporters of Jair Bolsonaro, Brasília is preparing for Lula's inauguration ceremony, which will receive at least 65 foreign delegations and dozens of PT caravans from all parts of the country. On social media, the shows scheduled for the party are called "Lulapalooza". And even with a strong security system in place, it is still not possible to know whether Lula will parade in an open or armored car.

At least 65 foreign delegations, including almost 20 heads of state and government, will be present at the inauguration ceremony.

Among them will be the presidents of Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Honduras and Uruguay, as well as the king of Spain.

The United States government will send the Secretary of the Interior, Deb Haaland, an indigenous woman and critic of Bolsonaro. On behalf of China, Vice President Wang Qishan will be present.

Organizers say this will be the largest participation of foreigners in the history of presidential inauguration ceremonies in the country.

Security scheme

There will be an unprecedented security operation involving all events, with the main avenues around Congress and Planalto closed. Brasília will mobilize “100%” of its police at inauguration, which could involve up to 8 agents, according to authorities.

The Federal Police alone will employ more than a thousand employees in “intelligence and security” work for the event – ​​the largest contingent ever mobilized at an inauguration ceremony, the PF reported.

Parade in an open or closed car?
