GDP preview surprises and shows increase in July

The result was released by the Central Bank this Thursday (15). In the last 12 months, the variation was 2,09%.

The Economic Activity Index (IBC-Br) is considered a preliminary indicator of the performance of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In the month of July it rose 1,17% compared to June, the Central Bank reported this Thursday (15).

The result came above and surprised the market, which projected an increase of 0,30%, according to the Refinitiv consensus.


The result represents the second consecutive month of growth. In the month of June, the indicator increased by 0,69%, compared to the previous month.

In the last 12 months, the variation was 2,09% with the result of the IBC-Br in July.

In relation to July 2021, the index grew by 3,87%.
