Refugees from countries that criminalize the LGBTQIA+ community will be welcomed in Brazil

This Thursday (18), one day after the celebration of the International Day to Fight LGBTphobia, a new welcoming program for the community was announced. 🏳️‍🌈

According to National Association of Transvestites and Transsexuals (ANTRA), a network of politically mobilized trans people, Brazil will be the first country to adopt a reception policy for refugees who come from countries that criminalize the community LGBTQIA +.

Also according to ANTRA, the announcement was made by National LGBTQIA+ Secretary Symmy Larrat, who brought information from the National Committee for Refugees (Conare) of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security.
