Resistance, Lula and Janja's dog, climbs the Planalto ramp

The inauguration of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and his vice-president, Geraldo Alckmin, broke several protocols, starting with the passing of the presidential sash from the hands of representatives of the Brazilian people to the new president of the Nation. But the rise of a "presidential" pet was the most unusual image of the entire ceremony. The "petlovers" cheered.

Resistance. This is the name of the SRD (non-breed) dog, adopted by First Lady Rosângela da Silva, Janja, after appearing at the PT camp in front of the Federal Police prison in Curitiba, where Lula was imprisoned.

For 580 days she was cared for by the camp's militants. And when he fell apart, for Lula's release, she was immediately welcomed by the first lady and Lula. He was just a puppy when he arrived at the camp and grew up as the former president's lawyers tried to free him.

The little animal has several symbols: the resistance of the current president during the period of imprisonment due to a process annulled by the courts and whose judge Sérgio Moro – who placed him in the chair – was considered impartial.

Resistência, the “mutt” dog, followed the Lula da Silva couple through the most competitive presidential campaign in history, participated in Lula and Janja's wedding and will now be at the presidential residence. Did you like it?
