Final stretch of the elections: deadline for electoral propaganda ends this Saturday, 22pm

After 47 days of electoral propaganda, the deadline for candidates and political parties to distribute campaign material ends at 22pm this Saturday (1st). Until voting ends this Sunday (2), 17pm, any collective manifestations of political preference are prohibited, including the gathering of people wearing clothes or items of clothing that identify them as supporters of a specific candidate or party. Individual demonstrations are permitted, as long as they are done silently.

According to legislation, after ten o'clock at night this Saturday (1), configures electoral crime hand-deliver any material relating to the candidacy, as well as holding motorcades, marches and political-partisan walks, as well as using sound cars to broadcast jingles or messages from candidates or parties.

One of the resolution of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) of 2019 establishes that spilling and/or consenting to the spillage of propaganda material at polling stations or nearby roads to these, even on the eve of the election, it also constitutes irregular propaganda.

Electoral campaigning on the internet is also prohibited

From tomorrow (2) until the end of voting hours (17pm Brasília time), any collective demonstrations of political preference will also be prohibited, including the gathering of people wearing clothes or items of clothing that identify them as supporters of a candidate or specific party. Individual demonstrations, however, are permitted, as long as they are done silently.
