Rihanna will perform halftime show at the 2023 Super Bowl

In February 2023, it will be Rihanna's turn to perform at the mega halftime show of the Super Bowl, the final match of the United States Football League (NFL). The singer's confirmation at the event came through social media.

Last Thursday (23), the NFL announced that the Apple would be the sponsor of the halftime show of the 2023 edition (Folha de S.Paulo). The championship final is the most watched television event of the year in the United States, and is a huge success in other countries as well.

This Sunday (25), the profiles of Rihanna, from NFL and Apple Music published the same photo on Instagram, which shows the singer's hand holding an American football. The NFL account changed her description on the platform from the National Football League to the National Fenty League – an analogy with the artist, as Rihanna's last name is Fenty.

O Super Bowl is scheduled for February 12, 2023.

The news caused a stir on social media. Just two hours after the photo was published on Instagram, the most talked about terms on Twitter were related to the artist. Rihanna's name, for example, had accumulated 530 thousand tweets at the time of publishing this report. Other words like Riri and Fenty also stood out.

The public's excitement is mainly due to the fact that the artist has been away from the stage for a few years. Rihanna's last tour was in 2016, with the album 'Anti'. Earlier this year, she gave birth to her first child, the result of her relationship with rapper A$AP Rocky.
