Who is Rui Costa?

Economist and native of Salvador (BA), Rui Costa graduated in economics from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA).

He began his political career, working in the union movement, at the Camaçari Petrochemical Complex, in the 1980s. Rui Costa He was a councilor in Salvador and gained prominence as state secretary during the administration of Jaques Wagner (2007-2014) in the state of Bahia.

The politician was Secretary of Institutional Relations, was elected federal deputy and then took over the Civil House of the government of Jaques Wagner, who nominated him to run for the government of Bahia.

Rui Costa He was elected governor of Bahia in 2014 and 2018.
