Journalist and director of the Marielle Franco Institute, Anielle Franco, will be the Minister of Racial Equality in the next Lula government. A native of Rio de Janeiro, Anielle is strongly involved in Human Rights and has a master's degree in Journalism from the University of Florida A&M.

Anielle holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism and English from the Central University of North Carolina, a bachelor's degree in English/Literatures from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (Uerj), a master's degree in Journalism and English from the University of Florida A&M and a doctoral candidate in applied linguistics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).
