Tebet, Ciro and Lula react to Bolsonaro's attacks on electronic voting machines

In a meeting with foreign ambassadors at Palácio da Alvorada this Monday (18), President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) once again repeated conspiracy theories and unproven accusations about electronic voting machines. On social media, presidential candidates condemned Bolsonaro's speeches.

Bolsonaro also launched attacks on former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and the ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF).

Simone Tebet (MDB)

“Brazil is ashamed in front of the world”, lamented Tebet after hearing Bolsonaro’s statements. In a post on Twitter, she states that the president used official and public means to discredit the electoral system. In the text, the MDB candidate reinforces trust in electronic voting machines.

Ciro Gomes (PDT)

In Ciro’s words, the meeting held by Bolsonaro was a “horrendous spectacle”. For the Pedestrian, the president committed a crime of responsibility during the speech and believes it is necessary for the political class to seek “legal instruments to remove him from office”, he wrote.

Ciro sees only two paths. Either Bolsonaro stops being president or Brazil will no longer be part of the group of countries that have democracy as a political and social regime.
