The Texas-based company announced the news in its annual impact report, a summary of its progress in social and environmental responsibility.

“Our brands are taking steps to restrict access to their services in Russia and will complete their withdrawal from the Russian market by June 30, 2023,” it said.

Tougher laws for the technology sector

Most major Western companies have closed or suspended operations in protest against Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, while Chinese companies expand their presence.

Russia, which seeks to reduce its dependence on the West, has strengthened its domestic technology sector in recent years.

Tinder's exit also comes as Russia tightens laws to regulate the technology sector, amid growing political repression.
