All flights are suspended in the US after technical failure

In a statement, the FAA reported that “ordered airlines to suspend all domestic departures by 9 a.m. to allow the agency to validate the integrity of flight and safety information.”

According to FlightAware, a flight tracking company, more than 1.100 flights – within and outside the United States – were postponed this Wednesday (11) and more than 90 were cancelled.

US President Joe Biden ordered an investigation into a system outage at the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) and told reporters at the White House that the cause of the failure was unclear.

“They don’t know what the cause is. Aircraft can still land safely, but they cannot take off now. We don’t know what the cause of this is.”, said Biden
