PROTESTS

Before Iran's game against Wales, this Friday (25), a couple of Iranian fans were protesting at the stadium and were reprimanded by event security.

The man had a flag with the phrase “Women’s freedom of life” and the woman was demonstrating against the case of Mahsa Amini, a young woman who died in the custody of Iran's morality police for wearing the veil over her hair incorrectly.

Fan demonstrations also took place at the team's debut.

HOST ELIMINATED

Qatar's defeat to Senegal, combined with the draw between the Netherlands and Ecuador, determined the end of the home team's campaign in this World Cup. And with a very negative record: the Qataris became the worst host in the history of the World Cup and the second host country to be eliminated in the group stage of the World Cup (the first was South Africa, in 2010). 🙈
