TRE-PR points out irregularities in Sérgio Moro’s campaign spending

Former judge and elected senator Sérgio Moro and his deputies, Luis Felipe Cunha and Ricardo Augusto Guerra, all from União Brasil, have until this Thursday (10) to provide clarifications on campaign expenses. The Regional Electoral Court of Paraná (TRE-PR) found inconsistencies in the documentation delivered to the body.

According to the subpoena published on the TRE-PR electronic bulletin board, the panel must comment within this period regarding the report of diligence carried out by the court and make any regularizations.

The deadline for reporting on parliamentary candidacies and those closed in the first round ended on November 1st and was met by Moro's ticket. However, inconsistencies found in the documentation force the application to rectify the process.

“TRE presented a standard accountability report, which is natural during this period, and the legal team is already in contact with the campaign's accounting. There is a period of three days to respond, the date on which the requested documents will be presented”, informed Moro, in a note.

The former judge ran for elected office for the first time in this year's elections. After presenting himself as a pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic for Podemos, Moro migrated to União Brasil and ran as a candidate for the Senate for Paraná, emerging victorious at the polls.
