Trump will be tried for defamation in April

Former United States President Donald Trump will sit in the dock in a New York courtroom next April. Trump will face an accusation of defamation made by a journalist who claims to have been raped in the 1990s by the tycoon, according to the investigating judge's decision released this Tuesday (29).

The writer and former columnist for Elle magazine, E. Jean Carroll, processed Trump in November 2019 for defamation after he called the journalist's allegations that she was raped by the former president in a New York mall dressing room in 1995 or 1996 a "complete lie."

Regarding the rape accusations, Carroll was unable to file a complaint in 2019 because the facts were time-barred.
