The action is carried out in partnership with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). A giant, inflatable replica of an electronic voting machine will be displayed during some matches of Series A of the Brazilian football championship.

The inflatable ballot box serves to demonstrate “support for the electronic voting system”, according to the TSE press office.

This Thursday (15), before starting the trial session, the president of the court, minister Alexandre de Moraes, stated that the campaign must convey the message that “just like in sport, [political] opponents are not enemies”.

“Unfortunately, we are seeing some incidents of violence, whether physical, as occurred between voters, or verbal”, said Moraes, commenting on the verbal insults with which São Paulo state deputy Douglas Garcia (Republicans) attacked journalist Vera Magalhães at the end of a television debate between candidates for the government of São Paulo, last Tuesday (13).

“We recently had the opportunity to see a state deputy verbally attack a journalist. Something totally outside the standards of civility”, said Moraes, asking candidates and voters to maintain “tranquility and serenity” so that the country can choose its political representatives on October 2nd, the first round of the majority elections.
