Latest from Ukraine: Death toll from Russian attack rises to 41 and 25 people remain missing

Rescue teams found the lifeless body of a child this Tuesday (17) in the rubble of a residential building in Dnipro, eastern Ukraine, three days after a Russian bombing, bringing the death toll to 41, and with 25 people still missing.

“At 09:46 am (04:46 am in Brasília), the body of a dead child was found in the rubble (…) on the 4th floor,” he announced Kyrylo Tymoshenko, advisor to the Ukrainian Presidency, on Telegram.

To date, Tymoshenko said, “41 people have died (including four minors), 79 people have been injured (16 minors) and 39 people have been rescued (6 minors)” following the attack, one of the deadliest for civilians since the start of the invasion. Russian in February 2022.

The latest official figures on Monday reported 40 deaths. The balance may, however, increase.

Rescue teams did everything possible to find more than twenty people who were still missing among the large concrete blocks. In total, “25 people are being sought,” the Ukrainian rescue service reported this Tuesday morning on Telegram.
