The spokesperson referred to the possible delivery of “weapons that allow attacking Russian territory”, even though “Ukraine already has weapons that it uses to carry out attacks every day” against Russia.
These statements were made after the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, criticized Berlin's hesitation to supply tanks to his country, on the eve of an important meeting of its allies in Germany to coordinate military aid to Kiev.
Since the start of the conflict, Western countries have refused to send long-range missiles to Kiev, fearing it would trigger an escalation.
