The speeches of General Tomás Ribeiro Paiva were made during a tribute to the soldiers killed in an earthquake in Haiti, in January 2010, when Brazilian troops were part of the 11th contingent of the MINUSTAH (United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti).
Members of the armed forces, active and reserve, are singled out for supporting, in some way, the acts in front of barracks, demanding that the military intervene in politics to change the results of the elections that gave victory to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva ( PT).
