Defender Pablo Marí, ex-Flamengo, is stabbed in an attack in Italy; 4 other people were injured

Former Flamengo player, Pablo Marí, now at Monza in Italy, was one of five victims of a knife attack, in a supermarket in a shopping center in Assago. According to information from the Italian press, the attacker - identified as a man with psychiatric disorders - was arrested. Three injured people were taken to hospitals in serious condition. One of them - a Carrefour employee - reportedly died.

According to Rai television in Italy, the injured were taken to hospitals by helicopter. The website TNT Sports reported that defender Pablo Marí had been stabbed in the chest, but was out of danger.

Italian media outlets, such as La Stampa, The Post Internazionale, and Sportface reported that the 46-year-old man entered the Carrefour market, which is located in the shopping center, and began stabbing customers without motivation. There was panic. It was the customers themselves who managed to contain the attacker until the police arrived.
