Adoption of animals affected by environmental disaster is done with avatars

The animals that were rescued after the collapse of the Brumadinho dam, in Minas Gerais, have found a new home in the metaverse. An app transforms pets into super-cute and realistic avatars. Check out!

The action seeks to encourage the adoption of 293 pets: 238 dogs and 55 cats. A OK took care of and cared for domestic animals. Since 2019, 443 pets have been adopted.

“The photos became true works of art and the avatars exceeded our expectations. The intention with the rehearsal is to generate interest in the responsible adoption of pets in a playful and fun way”, highlights Magda Castro, Vale’s fauna supervisor.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 30 million animals are abandoned in Brazil alone, and this number increases during the holidays and festivals.

There you can see photos, size descriptions and social profiles of the pets. Of course, you need to fill out a responsible action form and wait for the team to return. After that, interviews are carried out, which can be done remotely.

After the adoption process, project professionals will monitor the animal for the first six months, providing the necessary veterinary assistance. Cool, right? 😍
