Amazon plans to launch its own NFTs market, says website

American technology giant Amazon plans to launch a non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace on its platform. According to The Big Whale, the marketplace will launch on April 24 and will initially only be available to users in the United States. The company chose to allow bank card payments instead of traditional cryptocurrencies to make the platform more accessible.

Still according to the website, Amazon's chosen blockchain platform is not compatible with Ethereum, which means that creators who want to mint NFTs on the platform will have to make the conversion using other channels.

Arrival of the Amazon market could boost the sector

The North American giant's NFT market could boost the adoption of non-fungible tokens and blockchain, bringing development to the sector. Jeff Bezos' company already has some experience in NFTs, having led a financing round for Superplastic, a creator of toys and NFTs, in February this year.

Initially, 15 collections of NFTs will be hosted within the Amazon platform, however, at this point there are no details about the artists involved or the name of the works.
