Apple introduces its mixed reality headset; price of the product will be high

A Apple held a major event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, where it unveiled one of its most anticipated products of recent years: the mixed reality headset. Set to launch in June, the device was described as "flashy and exciting" by one of Bloomberg's top technology experts, Mark Gurman.

Despite being a highly anticipated product, the mixed reality headset should not be accessible to everyone. The device will be priced from US$ 3.000, as well as requiring an external battery that will need to be changed every two hours and a design that may not be comfortable for everyone. Additionally, testers reported that media content will be limited.

Nevertheless, the Apple expect the headset to follow a similar trajectory as the Apple Watch, carving out a niche as a fitness tracker, health companion, and notification manager. The company expects to sell around one million units during the first year of launch, which would result in revenue of approximately US$3 billion.

Even with the recent concerns of the design team at Apple, who warned CEO Tim Cook that the device was not ready to launch in 2023, the company decided to move forward with the project. While the mixed reality headset may have slower initial sales than other products from Apple, the company is expected to become the leader of the mixed reality market in a few months.

However, it is important to remember that the Apple You shouldn't make significant profits from the headset early on due to the device's expensive components. For this reason, the company does not plan to chase its typical profit margins.
