Central Bank wants to launch project-pilotthat of Real Digital already in March

During presentation at the IDP Summit, Campos Neto spoke about the importance of the Central Bank being aware of this new moment in the internet and the economy.

According to him, more and more people are promoting concepts of finance in the digital sphere and the representation of something physical in virtual space. 

For the BC president, even virtual reality will be monetized, through the metaverse. For the future, the plan is to highlight more and more innovative business models, with the aim of placing Brazil in a pioneering position when it comes to the digital economy.

At the time, Campos Neto said that “assets will be 'tokenized' and, looking at the banks' balance sheets, assets and liabilities can become 'tokens', we will need a currency to face this new system of interaction ”.
