Understand: What are NFTs
The big names in world football, with the aim of having a presence on web3.0, understand that they need to offer their fans new forms of interaction.
Developed by Ethernal Labs, Messi's NFT collection is made up of five digital collectibles. One for each World Cup participation, like what Adidas did in its recent commercial bringing together all versions of the Argentine star in a clip.
To access the NFTs from 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022, through free draws, the fan will have to purchase the token from 2006, Messi's debut year at the World Cup, through a 'digital market' called Etherity.
Cristiano Ronaldo debuted on the market with Binance
Cristiano Ronaldo, recently unemployed, also debuted in the NFTs market during the World Cup period. In partnership with the asset market Binance, the Portuguese star launched, on the 18th, a collection that brings together memorable bids represented by seven animated statues.

Divided into rarity levels, the tokens chronologically portray CR7's career. The set of NFTs also offers fans benefits such as autographed products and participation in promotional actions.
The value of NFTs is scary
Although the football of super stars excites the whole world, these collectible items are not as accessible to all fans. In the initial auction of the Portuguese star's NFTs, for example, super rarity tokens had an initial bid of more than R$53 and, in detail, five tokens of this suit were made available.
In the case of Messi, as it has not yet been released, the market value of the initial NFT is not yet known, but, to give you an idea, in another collection in partnership with Ethernity last year, more than US$ 3 millions.
