Gun detection company seeks to prevent shootings with the help of AI

ZeroEyes, an artificial intelligence (AI) gun detection software company, has partnered with Arkansas public schools to prevent potential gun threats.

Weapon detection technology with artificial intelligence (AI) da ZeroEyes – verified by humans – integrates AI with existing security cameras to detect firearms. The company's main mission is to prevent mass shootings within schools.

JT Wilkins, Senior Vice President of Sales at ZeroEyes, said in an interview the system asks a question. “Is there a gun in this image or not?”

“We took a photo at a time that will be sent to our manned 24/7/365 operations center, which is primarily staffed by former law enforcement and military veterans to make a very quickly.”, he explained.

ZeroEyes' software is used in thousands of buildings for hundreds of customers across 40 US states.

Wilkins said the process takes three to five seconds from initial detection until the alert reaches the hands of ZeroEyes' end users and customers.

The company was founded in 2018 by a team of Navy SEALs and technologists – following the Parkland, Florida, school shooter incident – ​​and created to protect people facing similar circumstances.
