Being built from the infrastructure of Microsoft, immersive virtual reality will be something similar to the Teams tool, but in 3D format and with avatars. According to the Executive President of the Forum, Klaus Schwab, the idea is for large corporations to be present in the metaverse, and even develop their own headquarters. There it will be possible to discuss topics that are on the agenda at Davos, but in a way facilitated by virtual reality.

For the launch, according to Schwab, people will be able to put on virtual reality glasses and witness all the experiences of the Global Collaboration Village, or, if they prefer, they can access it via their cell phones and laptops.
Metaverse will simulate everything that needs to be debated
During the presentation of the proposal, Kelly Ommundsen, head of the Global Collaboration Village, said that the spatialization experience will serve to present people with issues that need to be 'designed'. Those topics that cannot be explained on paper alone. The example of the oceans was cited. Environmentalists would be able to simulate water depths to explain sea level rise.
“We're trying to do things that can only happen in the metaverse – because if it's better done in person or on paper, then it doesn't make sense,” concluded Ommundsen.
The president of the WEF, during a press conference in Davos, also commented on the characteristics that make the metaverse promising for the proposal. In a comparison with the virtual meeting platform Zoom, Schwab said that people will be able to connect and feel like they belong to the agenda:

“We need new forms of international cooperation, which allow us to involve many more people in our discussions,” said Klaus Schwab.
