How the AI assistant works
The AI assistant presents the user and their match with a message suggestion within the chat, if they want help with their first message. If you wish, just tap “start” and the AI will create a personalized question based on the other person's profile. The user can use the question as is, tweak it, request another one, or discard it and write something themselves.
Only one AI-generated icebreaker is allowed per chat, and it disappears as soon as it is used; for now, the feature is only available in English.
“One pain point we hear is uncertainty about what to write to a potential friend,” said the Bumble founder, Whitney wolfe herd, in the press release.

“By leveraging AI as an idea generator, we are not only starting conversations, but also accelerating the process of discovering whether there is a true connection. In our initial testing, we are seeing a percentage of our members opting to use AI to help them break the ice.”
Bringing the gang together
O Bumble for Friends is also launching a much-requested feature to help organize in-person get-togethers in real life called “Plans.” Now you can schedule meetings for up to 15 people, like a book club. “Plans” seeks to solve the problem of finding friends in real life and facilitating group activities, whether you're in a new area or just looking for people with similar interests.
“When someone asks what your weekend plans are and you don't have any, it can make you feel even lonelier. We want to eliminate that feeling and give members an easy way to enjoy fun plans with amazing people,” continued Herd.

Currently, the Bumble for Friends is available in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom and United States.
