Meta acquires smart glasses company Luxexcel targeting immersive technologies

Meta, one of the most engaged companies in the reality metaverse, started the year 2023 betting even more on the potential of the new internet moment. Now, the technology giant acquires Luxexcel, a Dutch smart glasses company.

The transaction values ​​were not disclosed, however, Meta's head of financial communications, Ryan Moore, came out to say that he is excited about the acquisition: “We are excited that the Luxexcel team has joined Meta, deepening the existing partnership between the two companies”.

Based in the Netherlands, the smart lens company was founded in 2009, and emerged on the market with the production of glasses that combine the user's natural needs with the demands for technology. The entire production scale is made using 3D printers.
