In the spirit of the World Cup: Argentina and The Sandbox offer items from the team's historic achievements in NFTs

Perhaps this World Cup is being the most hyperconnected of all time, with the arrival of web3.0, cryptocurrencies, NFTs and metaverse, even the way of consuming football has changed. Proof of this is the Argentine Football Association in partnership with the metaverse of The Sandbox and Onefootball, which will launch, on the 6th, a special collection of NFT items about the emblematic achievements of the Albiceleste team.

From World Cup trophies to shirts worn by the stars, everything will be available on the platform's marketplace. The announcement came shortly after Argentina qualified for the next stage of the World Cup in Qatar.

In a space called AFA (Argentine Football Association) Village, in The Sandbox in partnership with onefootball, users will be able to explore the history of Argentine football. There, sports fans will be able to see historic victories and even experience the team's rivalries. At the AFA Village Argentina's hall of fame will also be available with items from legendary players. 

Check out some of the items that can be purchased on December 6th through the platform's marketplace: 

  • AFA World Trophy 1978 — A true collector's item for anyone who wants to commemorate Argentina's incredible triumph in 1978.
  • AFA World Trophy 1986 — A true collector's item for anyone who wants to commemorate Argentina's incredible world cup triumph in 1986.
  • AFA South American Trophy 2021 — A true collector's item for everyone who wants to celebrate Argentina's South American triumph in 2021.
  • AFA Retro Home Shirt 2014 — A retro shirt from 2014. Argentina reached the world final with this shirt — so close to winning it all.
  • AFA Retro Away Shirt 2018 — A retro away shirt from 2018. Worn by players like Lionel Messi, Ángel Di María, Paulo Dybala, Gonzalo Higuaín and Javier Mascherano.

The prices of the items have not yet been released, but the acquisition is made through Ethereum, the blockchain responsible for transactions using the platform's currency.
