According to Freddy Paiva, community manager da Tree – Brazilian company with 6 years of experience in the field – there is a growing demand from the market in VR and AR, but the big problem in the Brazilian scenario is people's lack of knowledge regarding the tools integrated into this ecosystem.
The executive highlights that, although there is an increase in the base of VR players around the world, in Brazil the lack of accessibility of headsets is the biggest obstacle to the development and popularization of VR. virtual and augmented reality. According to him, the average cost of a VR headset is R$2.000, and as only imported products are sold in Brazil, that is, there is no in-house production, the cost can be even higher.
Game designer Leonardo Dantas, also from Arvore, believes that it is easy for Brazilians to enjoy and interact in VR, as it is something super playful and fun. Additionally, there is a variety of experiences, from short games to more complex virtual reality journeys and stories. However, natural barriers limit the expansion of the national market.
