Second Life, one of the first “metaverses”, will have a smartphone version

Second Life, a platform that pioneered the Metaverse concept, announced that its version for mobile devices will be released soon, twenty years after its original launch. Although the metaverse has recently gained popularity due to Meta, this concept has existed for some time, and precursor platforms were established to make it a reality, such as Second Life.

Developed by Linden Labs, the Second Life it will now have a mobile app for iOS and Android, which can be used on both smartphones and tablets. Interest in the platform is expected to grow even more with the arrival of the mobile version.

The platform team released a promotional video on its YouTube channel to show what the mobile application, which was developed with the Unity engine, would look like. Although a release date has not yet been confirmed, it is speculated that the beta version of the app will be available before the end of the year.
