Trying to popularize metaverse resources, Meta makes avatars available for WhatsApp

WhatsApp, one of the many brands under the Meta umbrella, as of this Wednesday (7) will also offer the use of avatars in the messaging app. Trying to engage tools for a possible metaverse and trying to convince people that avatars are fun and practical ways of expressing sensations and feelings, the application allows users to create their representations and use them in conversations.

Used by more than two billion people around the world, WhatsApp reaches the most diverse audiences. Used by 'zap uncles' and teenagers addicted to posting statuses, the messaging app allows Meta to better test the company's resources. At the release disclosure, the company says:

“For many people, this will be the first time we have created an avatar, and we will continue to provide style enhancements, including lighting, shading, hair style textures, and more, that will make avatars even better over time.”

The objective of the Meta It's about messing with users' playfulness and trying to popularize metaversonic ideas, such as the possibility for people to recreate themselves in another dimension, in this case, the web.

“Your avatar is a digital version of you that can be created from billions of combinations of different hairstyles, facial features and clothing. On WhatsApp, you can now use your personalized avatar as your profile photo or choose from 36 personalized stickers that reflect many different emotions and actions,” said Meta.

In addition to being able to use avatars in conversations, such as emojis, users will also be able to choose to build their representation and place it as a profile image.
