Original version of Snow Crash, the book that launched the term 'metaverse', will be auctioned

The precursor book to the term metaverse, Snow Crash, by Neal Stephenson, will be auctioned. Popular for spreading the concept of metaverse around the world, the book was published in 1992, and narrates a future of dystopia that is now used in virtual reality experiences. The auction takes place on February 27th and the estimated price of the lot is between 40 and 60 thousand dollars.

The event is part of the 30th anniversary tribute to the initial publication of Snow Crash. According to the website responsible for sales, Sotheby's, the book is wrapped in original 4200 xerox paper with adhesive tape.

The manuscript has corrections and annotations made by Sthepenson himself. The idea is to let people know the changes and additions that have been made to the novel. The book's lot price ranges from 40 to 50 thousand dollars.

To integrate the new moment of the internet, NFT collections will be sold with the cover of the original edition of the title. Exclusive materials from the manuscript, graphic material and objects from the book's characters will also be for sale.
