“Zero illegal deforestation by 2028, recovery of millions of hectares of degraded land and, of course, continuation of a strong and important agricultural production policy like the one we have. We can increase, almost double, the agricultural production we have. Brazil is one of the largest food exporters in the world, but we can double production without needing an extra hectare or cutting down a single tree. We will increase production by recovering new areas for planting and degraded lands that had been mistreated, abandoned and exploited without any reference or control.”

Considering the relevance of Amazon In the global discussion on climate and forests, the minister recalled that the enormous biodiversity is a significant part of Brazil, but regional cooperation is essential.
