The Earth Charter, published this week by Earth News, has the Pantanal as its protagonist. Its author, Lourival Sant'Anna highlights that the Pantanal is a delicate biome, which depends on others to survive, and reveals a conversation with journalist Cláudia Gaigher - regarding the launch of her book “Diário de uma Repórter no Pantanal” - which will air in 3 episodes of the Earth News Terra program, next Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.

In the book “Diário de uma Repórter no Pantanal”, Cláudia narrates the behind-the-scenes of 30 reports she made for TV Globo, over 24 years.

The survival of Pantanal is linked to the preservation of other brazilian biomes, such as the Cerrado and the Amazon. Fires, deforestation and intense agricultural activity directly impact the health of the Pantanal. The flying rivers, which originate in the Amazon, interfere with the incidence of rain in other regions of the country. Look:
