Dozens of media outlets, including the The Guardian, published a joint editorial this Tuesday (15) calling for a tax on the largest fossil fuel companies. According to the editorial, the funds raised should be redistributed to poorer and more vulnerable countries, as they are suffering the worst impacts of the climate crisis.
“Humanity needs to end its addiction to fossil fuels. Rich countries account for just one in eight people in the world today, but they are responsible for half of greenhouse gases. These nations have a clear moral responsibility to help,” the editorial says.

Financing for Indonesia 🇮🇩
The 5th largest emitter of greenhouse gases greenhouse effect of the world, Indonesia will receive US$20 billion in public and private financing to close coal plants and bring forward the peak date of the sector's emissions by seven years, announced the United States, Japan and partners who signed the agreement.
