Plant-based gains space on Brazilians’ plates, research shows

A survey recently published by the Good Food Institute (GFI) shows that Brazilians have reduced their meat consumption and the majority intend to maintain or intensify this movement. The data reveals that around a third of people replaced meat mainly or only with plant-based products – which may or may not be analogous to those of animal origin. And you? Ever experienced?

O study prepared by GIF shows that the share of consumers who reduced their meat consumption in the last 12 months jumped from 50% in 2020 to 67% now. Amidst the scenario of rising inflation and increased food insecurity in the country, the main reason, cited by 45% of those interviewed, was the price of meat. Then comes concern about health (36%).
