'Forever Chemicals': Millions of Americans Have Contaminated Water

The data shows that drinking water systems – serving small cities to large cities – contain measurable levels of so-called “eternal chemicals”, a family of durable compounds long used in a variety of commercial products but which are now known to be harmful.

“Eternal” chemicals used in packaging can affect food, study indicates

Chemical substances – previously accepted in food packaging – can pose a health hazard. This is what a study carried out by researchers from Canada, the United States and Switzerland found. The evaluated products may decompose and pass from packaging into food or drink. The research analyzed 42 packages from popular fast-food restaurants 🍟 that serve burgers, burritos, fries and other common foods, and found these dangerous chemicals in about half. 😖

The water of up to 26 million Americans is contaminated, according to an analysis of new EPA data by Environmental working group (EWG), a non-profit organization based in Washington DC.

Studies have linked the chemicals to cancer, immunodeficiencies, reproductive harm and developmental effects in children.
