Report warns that companies still fail to disclose their environmental information

The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) released this week its A List of global companies that stood out in the transparency of environmental information in their corporate reports. More than 330 companies entered this year's list, but the highlight was the minimum number that managed to achieve the highest rating (AAA) – only 12, which represents 1,3% of the total number of companies involved.

O lifting the CDP (*) – non-profit charity that manages the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts – analyzed 3 categories of environmental information: climate changes, forests and water security.

Among the companies on List A of climate changes, 76% of them have an absolute or intensity emissions target with a proven scientific basis.

All companies on List A de forests has forest-related objectives linked to a commitment not to deforestation or conversion to production of commodities. Finally, in the list of companies best classified in terms of water security, 67% reported having goals to reduce pollution of water or efficient use of the resource.
