A resolution to end the plastic pollution, legally binding, addresses the complete life cycle of plastic, necessary to face the growing pollution crisis caused by this type of material.

The document also recognizes the significant contribution made by workers in informal and cooperative environments to collection, sorting and recycling in many countries.

The treaty should include a range of technical provisions, such as promoting sustainable production and consumption of plastics, from product design to environmentally sound waste management, through resource efficiency and safe and fair circular economy approaches.
