French football federation is investigated over allegations of sexual harassment

The French Sports Minister, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, announced this Friday (16) that she had ordered an investigation to investigate allegations of sexual harassment at the French Football Federation (FFF). The main target is Noël Le Graët, the entity's 80-year-old president.

The announcement came just hours after a meeting between the minister and the president of the federation. She called the investigation a “control and audit mission.” The investigation is a consequence of several allegations of sexual harassment made in a report by So Foot magazine, published earlier this month.

The publication presents testimonies from several federation employees revealing Le Graët. Some had already left the entity. Most of the complaints were anonymous. They stated that they received inappropriate text messages from the president and that they lived in a “toxic environment” within the FFF.

The federation promeyou file a search in court. The president did not speak publicly about the allegations.
