Interest in AI chatbots has skyrocketed since the launch of ChatGPT in November, supported by Microsoft.

This service caused a stir due to its ability to generate texts, music, test answers and even news articles. But it also raised concerns about the collection and processing of data carried out by this type of application.
Large financial companies, such as Goldman Sachs, have banned or restricted the use of these platforms by their employees. Now the South Korean Samsung Electronics, the world's largest producer of memory chips and smartphones, joins this list.
The ban applies to the household appliances and furniture division, said a representative of Samsung to AFP.

An internal statement obtained by AFP explains that the Samsung is looking for ways to use these AI services in “a safe environment for employees so that work efficiency can be improved.”
“Until these measures are ready, we prohibitariamind the use of generative AI services on company-owned computers”, he says.
The statement also asks its employees not to download work-related information from these platforms via personal computers outside of company premises.

A Samsung argues that there were “cases of misuse” of services such as ChatGPT by its employees, but did not provide further details.
More than 60% of employees at Samsung said in an internal survey that there were security risks associated with using these platforms on company devices.
