After Italy and China, it's Spain's turn questionair or ChatGPT about privacy

The agency requested that the issue of ChatGPT be included in the next Plenary of the European Data Protection Committee to allow harmonized actions to think about privacy within the scope of the General Data Protection Regulation.

On Tuesday, France's privacy regulator also announced an investigation into complaints related to ChatGPT. Meanwhile, Italy's data regulator is reviewing measures proposed by the OpenAI in response to concerns that led to the chatbot's temporary ban on March 31. The Italian regulator's board met on Tuesday (11) to discuss the matter.

Meanwhile, the US government is also getting involved in AI discussions. The Center for AI and Digital Policy (CAIDP) has filed a complaint with the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC), alleging that the company's latest product OpenAI, GPT-4, violates federal consumer protection law and poses significant dangers to the public. Additionally, the Biden administration has asked for public feedback on accountability measures for AI systems, amid concerns about their effects on national security and education.

In China, it is not just user privacy that is being discussed

On the other side of the world, China has drawn up a set of rules to regulate generative AI services. Chinese regulators have stated that these services must align with Chinese socialist values and avoid producing content that promotes regime subversion, violence, pornography or disrupts the social and economic order. Providers must ensure data legitimacy and avoid discrimination during algorithm design and training. Additionally, generative AI service providers must undergo security assessments before launching their products.
