The platform emerges as an alternative against misinformation

According to its creators, the platform was created to combat the era of fake and manipulated news. In short, the AI would carry out a thorough selection to identify fraudulent content. Furthermore, users will be able to comment on posts and discuss topics with friends via chat.

Systrom told the Financial Times that: “It’s a particularly opportune time in the tech industry, with Elon’s acquisition of Twitter and Facebook’s focus on the metaverse. And it’s a particularly opportune time to focus on text when we need it most, given people’s attention to misinformation and the way we consume news today.”

On the platform, texts will enter from the The New York Times and even blogs with a smaller audience. The criteria for remaining on the platform will only be the quality of the information, according to the creators.
