Crisis on Twitter: would it be the return of Orkut and Tumblr?

Since Elon Musk became the owner of Twitter, the resignations continue to multiply. The reason? The billionaire gave employees an ultimatum to comply with the company's new philosophy: give themselves "completely and unconditionally" or leave. 😬

“After more than 8 years, I still don’t know what to say in this Tweet,” tweeted former platform employee Brian Martin, whose LinkedIn profile lists as a Staff Engineer, on Twitter, for eight and a half years.

The hashtag #lovewhereyouworked – love the place where you worked, in free translation – has been used by several employees who chose to leave the company.

The number of Twitter workers who decided to leave the company on Thursday (17) is still a mystery.

Two weeks ago, Musk had already fired half of the company's 7.500 employees, and months ago around 700 people resigned when Musk was still negotiating the purchase of the platform.

And amid the confusion, Musk tweeted: “We just hit a new peak in Twitter usage.”

Is Twitter dead?

Musk also posted a meme of an actor posing on top of a grave. Both the man and the tombstone were covered in the blue bird Twitter logo.

Other social networks are riding the hype of Twitter’s “death”. Instagram, for example, said it loves Twitter. 🤪

Twitter lovers are sad, some even desperate. The phrase TWITTER WILL END It’s one of the most talked about topics on the internet…

Temporarily closed

Twitter warned all employees that the company's buildings were closed and inaccessible, even with badges, until Monday (21).

“Offices will reopen on Monday, November 21st. Thank you for your flexibility. Continue to comply with the house rules, refraining from discussing confidential information on social media, with the press, or anywhere else,” the message said.
