US will inject US$140 million into artificial intelligence research

The US government plans to invest US$140 million to create seven new AI research institutes that will explore critical areas such as climate, agriculture, public health and cybersecurity. USA summoned top hats from the area.

The White House announced plans to address the risks and opportunities of artificial intelligence (AI) as Vice President Kamala Harris prepares for a meeting with technology CEOs to discuss security measures.

USA called CEOs of giants to talk

AI developers, including Google, Microsoft e OpenAI, will participate in public assessments of existing generative AI systems to explore how these models align with the principles and practices outlined in the Biden-Harris Administration's Blueprint for a AI Bill of Rights and an AI Risk Management Framework. 

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB), the United States government agency responsible for developing and implementing federal budget and management policies, will release draft policy guidance on the use of AI systems by the US government.
