Instagram presents 'gifts' for content monetization in the US

Instagram announced this Wednesday (8) its new update for content creators in the United States. Now, North Americans who have a good audience base will be able to earn money with gifts sent by followers.

The news announced for the Meta application arrives to face TikTok, which is growing in popularity in all four corners of the globe, and already has a consolidated monetization system, including in the USA.

Remuneration in the app will happen as follows: the content producer receives gifts from supporters within the app. If the person saw an interesting video on reels and wants to support the influencer's content, they click on the 'gift' space, select the gift, and send it to the producer.

These gifts offered by followers are purchased within Instagram. The person buys a 'star' to forward to their favorite influencer. In other words, it's not Insta that pays for your content, it's the supporters.

For content producers who want to be rewarded for their posts, it is necessary to undergo approval within the application.

Gifts on Instagram were already being tested since November last year, now the initiative is starting to take effect for social network users in the United States.

It is not yet known whether the gifts – or when – will be available in Brazil.
