Stack Overflow and Reddit charge tech giants for using their data to train AI

The series that seems to have no end to AIs gained another chapter last week. The specialized website Wired published that Stack Overflow, as well as Reddit, open internet forums, will start charging artificial intelligence platforms to use their data to train their tools.

Stack Overflow is a Q&A site for programmers. Big technology companies like Google, OpenAI and Meta use Stack Overflow data to train their artificial intelligence, but do not pay anything for using this data. Stack Overflow has decided that from now on these companies will have to pay for the use of information.

Reddit, another question and answer site, also decided to charge companies that use its data to train artificial intelligence for commercial projects.

Both Stack and Reddit are already working on pricing their data. It seems that the values will be revealed in the coming months.

These companies want to charge AI developers because they believe companies should pay for the value they get from their data. Stack and Reddit want to ensure their user community is compensated for their contributions.
